Three years ago, #EricGarner, a father, a grandfather, a member of a community, a living human being was killed by a New York Police officer. His words "I can't breathe" as the officer held his arms around his neck still ring through the movement as a call to action for all of us. We can't breathe freely until all of us can breathe freely and justice is served. We have never forgotten Eric and he continues to be a spark in many of our hearts to fight for true justice and police accountability. We all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We will never forget.

Every time this comes up, I feel like I can't breathe. It's so tragic and unfortunate that his life was taken away in a cold, murderous way. May he be in the highest of heavens.

Daniel Pantaleo has a long history of abuse, seven disciplinary complaints and 14 individual allegations lodged against him, four of the allegations were substantiated by the CCRB (Civilian Complaint Review Board). The CCRB recommendations pushed for the harshest penalties it has the authority to recommend for all four substantiated allegations, but the recommendations went unanswered. If the NYPD followed the guidelines set forth by the CCRB Eric Garner would still be alive today. We need to stop blaming the victim and hold those in authority responsible for their actions

If cops take an oath to protect and serve us they are held at higher esteem than the rest of the community . Police need to be held accountable every single one and every single time . Every single cop should have to wear a camera at all times and not be allow to turn them off . There are many other ways to handle a situation than deadly force . 1 is too many . Now they seem to be happening every day . Wth ?? It's so sickening . We all know this ! Just saying .
