I recited Quran at an interfaith event with women of all different backgrounds

I recited Quran at an interfaith event with women of all different backgrounds. Afterward, a number of women came to me, tears in their eyes, holding my hands, sharing that they had never been so touched. They had goosebumps as they heard the recitation, they cried because they were so moved by the verses, even though they didn't know what was being said. Over and over they shared with me, "I can't remember the last time I felt so spiritually elevated."
If just a few moments of listening to the Quran can so powerfully impact those who have never heard it before nor understand it, then what about those of us who believe it to be the divine words of God and who, at our fingertips, have the opportunity to read a translation and actively work to understand? What a blessing, what an honor, to be humbled with the gift of seeking the Quran.
"Is it not time for the believers to humble their hearts to the remembrance of God..." (Quran, 57:16)
