I always remind people that dissent is the highest form of patriotism but for women of color dissent is also increasingly dangerous. Their lives, their families, their employment are all on the line. They forge forward because they know their communities are counting on them, because they are willing to make the sacrifices, because they will do anything to see all of us truly free.
Sometimes we see these women, we may tell them we appreciate them but we don't ever actually sit down and think about all the things they have had to endure and still endure. We don't see the long train rides home from a late meeting, for some, missing hours/days with their loved ones, the tears, the hateful emails, the death threats, the hospitalization, the broken hearts, the anxiety, the depression.
To all my sisters putting it all on the line - I LOVE YOU. You inspire me. You inspire my children. You give me hope. You give me the strength I need to keep going. I ask God EVERY SINGLE DAY to protect you, to envelope you in his love. I ask God to guide you and keep you on the righteous path. I call many of you out by name. I hope that at some point you feel my prayers touch your hearts.
Whatever happens to one of us, happens to all of us. You are on the right side. We are on the right side. We pray we can get through these hard times together - its the only way. Sometimes we don't have to agree on every issue or every tactic - but one thing we can agree on is that we MUST love and protect one another. We are all we got.
I hope that you all join me in praying for those who sacrifice the most. I believe deeply in the power of prayer.
love you back and we got your back. keep going! no turning back.
You are one of these women. I love you and pray for you.
Linda Sarsour i love you and pray for you every day. very few understand what this shit is like. anytime you wanna chat just holla. you're not alone by any stretch of the imagination.

You don't gotta pray to a God - you can send some good vibes
I'm sending u good vibes on a daily my sista !! Keep on pushing !!
You are constantly in our prayers, our leader, our fighter for all.
I love you too. Thsnk you so much for the desperate and loving prayer. I had an awful argument with patriotists with full of misogyny and hate but this post makes me feel a little better. It gives me the idea that someone is with me fighting against hate. Thank you so so much ❤ i support you too and will pray for you
Learning about everything that Fannie Lou Hamer endured was the moment that drove this home for me. All of the abuse she had heaped on her, and she continued fighting.
And then learning from seeing what goes on in your, Tamika and Carmen's comment feeds here and on Twitter. People can be terrible! Unbelievably cruel.
This touched me deeply knowing my personal struggles and my advocacy (small though it may be) for people with difficulties in our communities. Especially those of color. Thank you for your thoughts sister!
I am sending you love and prayers of protection. Whenever you need media to help carry the story I will be there. Just say the word, Sis.
Love you ❤️
I echo everything you say Linda.
Praying for you n yours and all of ours daily beloved!
Allah yi7meekie.May God protect you.
